During prehistoric times the Siculi and Sicani tribes carved caves into limestone on San Giorgio and inhabited the land for thousands of years. The caves, still visible today, attest to the sprawling landscape's archeological significance. Villa Aranjaya, is only one part of the panorama. Discovered and developed by the present owners' ancestors since 1400, today San Giorgio is a thriving citrus orchard that was converted to organic production in 2009. In 2003 it was recognized as a Natural and Cultural Heritage site by the European Organization for Landowners. Welcoming you at Villa Aranjaya are its noble European hosts; agricultural experts who are pleased to introduce you to the wonders of this enchanting place brought to light by their ancestors centuries ago, and today meticulously converted with polished–terracotta floors, soaring ceilings and gallery-quality (midcentury) antique furnishings, set within it's own private parkland, verdant with a precious palm-tree collection from all over the subtropical world, and alive with bird song. The Villa

I had a great week with Aranjaya Wellness holidays. Both yoga and Pilates classes taught to an excellent standard in a lovely airy space, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. I came home feeling really energised. The communal dining was a great chance to get to know the group while tasting a variety of local dishes. I'd definitely recommend the visit to Mount Etna and to sample the local wines and foods in the nearby village.
Villa Aranjaya is an elegant house set in a lovely garden on an estate of orange groves. It was a charming location for a week of early starts, intense classes and the best orange juice for breakfast. With time out to explore Sicily it made for a perfect holiday.
Aranjaya Villa is a perfect setting for complete relaxation and grounding yourself as it is secluded and the farm is organic. The studio has magnificent mountain views. I left feeling toned by the classes as they allowed my mind tot get back in contact with my inner self. Menues are typically Italian with enough choice for both carnivores and vegetarians.
